My wife and I absolutely LOVE Thomas Edison Charter School. We have five kids and all five of them go to the school. The teachers and administration are fabulous. We love that our kids are a year ahead in math and are receiving an excellent education to prepare them for university. Unlike the public schools, where students are bused to a different school for junior high, our kids are in the same school and positive environment that they had K-6th grade. The school is uplifting and provides a secure and safe learning environment.

If your objective as a parent is to teach your child to work hard at the same time being treated with a high level of positivity and encouragement, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a school where parents are involved and take a joint role in their child's education, this is the place for you. If you like the classroom focus to be on learning instead of testing and social agendas, this is the place for you.

We have had such a wonderful experience at Thomas Edison Charter School North since 2007. I am so grateful for this option in our valley. My children have been challenged in a small school atmosphere- Thomas Edison encourages kids to rise up and reach to a higher level. They have been taught by teachers who care about them and know them. Parents are welcome at anytime to volunteer, observe and just be a part of their children's education in a number of ways.

Long-term Investment : : Seeing the Payoffs
Five years ago I switch my kids from the neighborhood school to the charter school, and I haven't regretted the move one bit! My children have been taught good study habits of daily homework, correcting wrong answers, memorization and foundational training in math and writing in a positive classroom environment. They also enjoy weekly time at the library, music, P.E., keyboarding, and art. Now that I have children in High School, I have seen the pay off of attending Thomas Edison. They are balancing school while participating in sports without sacrificing their grades. I recommend this school to any family willing to assist their children during the K-8 years; Thomas Edison Charter School prepares students for upper-level education.

The environment this school provides for children and their families is unlike any other. I have worked in many schools and never been in such a warm positive environment. The education children receive here is outstanding. The school provides the teachers with curriculum that not only meets all state standards but takes it to the next level with a student centered approach. The teachers work tirelessly to help students achieve their goals through trainings and observations from administration to ensure they are maintaining a high standard of education. Students enjoy added stimulus through field trips, before and after school activities, orchestra/band, citizenship parties and plenty more. I highly recommend this school on so many levels!!

My 6 yo loves this school and his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Harvey. He works hard because he feels motivated by everyone on staff. Part of the goal at TECS is to give parents an opportunity to participate in their children’s education, which I am an advocate of. We are required to volunteer, which not only allows you to keep up with the class but also to help the teachers so they can focus on their actual jobs of teaching and not just grading. Mr. Smith, the principal, takes an active role in each of his student’s education by learning their names and visiting classrooms regularly. Not all students that attend here have the same experience I am sure, but I have loved it so far and tell everyone I know about the good work they are doing here.

Transferring my two kids to Thomas Edison was the best thing I could have done! It's a great learning environment with teachers who really care about each students success! My son has an IEP and they're Special Education team is phenomenal! Love this school!
