There are still a lot of down trees from the July 31st storm. The trails are not marked, and it took me a while to find some. I did 8.57 mi 2h 57m. There is a trail following the Platte River. There are different trails leading off of that one trail. There are 10 caboose cars from Union Pacific with a deck and tables on them with grills at each one. It looks like you can rent them. They all have AC units.

Lovely campground. We stayed in site 32 with our 19’ camper/1500 Ram truck - just enough room for those two. Bathrooms immaculate. Coin operated showers. Quiet and serene. Bring water and buy firewood outside campground, don’t sell it inside park. Gas station sells it 18 minutes away, $7.50 a bundle. Dog friendly. Loved it here.

The online reservation fees are way too high. And if you have to cancel your reservation they'll keep your money anyway! I mainly use two rivers recreational area for tent camping. CAMPSITES ARE PLACED VERY CLOSE TOGETHER and it does tend to get very crowded on any weekend.
°° Mar 2025 update!
The winter has been very harsh to Two Rivers. They have lost a tremendous amount of trees. The park satff has been frequently closing off camping areas and day areas while they cut up and remove trees. For those who plan on camping or spending time at Two Rivers there will be a lot less shade and it's going to be a hot summer. I looked at many of the areas where trees had come down and it seemed they had blown over at the base. It's as if the water content is increasing in the sandy soil and the trees just couldn't hold up to the wind. it's a sad situation and I hope they begin planting new trees soon. So far I've not seen any tree planting activity.

Previous review - Two Rivers is a scenic area. It's close to Omaha so it gets very crowded on the weekends. The campsites are crowded very close together. Most of the people who camp there are amateurs and tend to be inconsiderate of the other people. They will yell at their kids or yell at their dogs or yell at each other till late at night. Sometimes there are a large groups of people who drink and play loud music. They leave their car or loud truck engines running for no apparent reason. The tent camping area is completely surrounded by thick weeds and tall trees and doesn't get any air flow so the air gets smoky. It seems everyone who goes to two rivers must light their own campfire. Most people don't know how to light fires so they throw a bunch of garbage or paper and try to light it. There's no air flow so at best it smells really bad everywhere, at worst it's just suffocating smoke that you can't escape because there's no wind. I've also noticed that there's a lot more litter around the park and it seems to be from all the migrants who tend to gather in large masses and play loud music.

• I can't recommend this place unless you're really desperate to put a tent up and you live close to Omaha and you don't want to drive far

We just went fishing with the kids for the afternoon. Had a lot of fun. And there was a lot to go to. We caught fish and frogs and saw tons of turtles. The people we got the annual permit from were awesome and helpful. And he was very nice and told us where we could catch some fish. The bathroom at the main place was nice and clean. There was hardly anyone there when we went though. It was a Tuesday afternoon.

Clean. Nice dump and freshwater stations. Fisherman's dream. Safe. Close to Omaha. No fancy stuff just good ole fishing, canoeing, swimming in a lake, old school playgrounds, hiking and biking. Great place to take the kiddos fishing. Having the lakes and the Platte River in the same place is awesome.

I am giving it a low score because the bathrooms were dirty when we arrived. You had to pay for showers (it takes quarters). You also have to pay for a park pass even thou you just paid for electric only site. Which was $35.00. I never found the area to wash dishes so I washed them in the bathroom sink. Some of the site had huge puddles of water in them from the rain so make sure you are not in a low area. The plus was the sites are nicely spaced between each other and they had flushable toilets. Also we asked about buying wood and the lady said we had to go out of the park and buy some.

This is a lovely park for camping and the caboose camper cabins they offer are a fun option. My mistake was to come for hiking - the customer service person told me the trails aren’t marked on the map they give out and he didn’t seem to know for sure if there are any or where I could find them. He did tell me to watch out for hunters with bows. The park is fairly small, we didn’t find any actual trails, I would say it is best for family camping since they do offer many different options for that (cabooses, regular cabins, multiple spaces for RVs and tents). There is a small lake with a beach that’s great for swimming, and you can also swim in the river (although the lake is safer).
The cabooses should be reserved online first since they are pretty booked up through the summer. Minimum stay is two nights, so they can’t be booked just for an overnight stay.
Overall the park is clean, seems safe, and the nature is pretty. We saw lots of different kinds of birds, including a goose nesting right by the camping area.
