I’m attending UTI and I want to leave a genuine review.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying that they couldn’t find employment after graduation, but I think what people don’t understand is that you aren’t going to get hired if you have terrible grades. If you can’t be professional in school, employers aren’t going to hire you.

This school has taken me from 0 experience with actually working on cars, to being able to perform the basics. I’ve only completed 3 courses so far, and I’ve learned so much.

As for the social life on campus, that’s where I have some issues. I’m a woman, and as you might expect, there’s about a 10:1 ratio of men to women. I have found friends here though.

There’s also a racism/sexism/homophobia issue. I’ve heard racial slurs being said openly in the halls, in one incident it was even directed at a teacher. In one class in particular one of the teachers started talking about how he loved Trump, political beliefs aside, the classroom isn’t a place for that.

I know most people in this field don’t really care, but I do wish the environment was a bit more inclusive, at the very least a bit more professional.

Despite the issues I stated, my overall experience has been very positive, and I would recommend this school.

I truly appreciate their dedication to veterans and the way they honor and support those who have served. The staff here is fantastic—always approachable, professional, and willing to go the extra mile. A special shoutout to the student coaches, who are amazing and incredibly helpful in guiding students to success. Highly recommend this school for anyone looking to advance their skills and career!

How wonderful to have a Technical Institute that can not only teach the trade, but assist in job placement after completion. 4 year universities are not for everyone. This school fills the niche of hands on training, not just a zoom environment. We need the trades, and this school provides the tools and environment to become successful in life.

Current student, and infractions are some BS. If you have a planned trip, they won't work with you and force you to go on LOA (leave of absence) instead of letting you make up classes, and god forbid you leave early because of work or something, they will rather have you be sleep deprived than leave early. You can pass your classes and labs but they will still fail you over infractions. You only get 3 pairs of shirts for 18 months or however long your course will be, no jacket or hoodie, you want more you have to pay for them, or be lucky and win a raffle or something they do every now and then.Proceed with caution when joining because they care more about making their money thann your life and well-being.

I've just been reading some of the reviews on this school. I currently attend and I'm finishing up my 5th course this week. The low reviews are in my opinion speculation from people who either are lazy or just don't know how to apply themselves. I've had no bad experiences here at this time. The online portion of the work is not hard to do and the lab work or hands on work is also not hard to grasp. As long as you apply yourself you can pass these classes. As for job placement being a full time student it is not easy to land a job and have a work, school, life balance. I can't speak from a graduates perspective as I've only just begun my journey through the school. Although they do help you try to find a job it is not like they can just throw you at an employer and force them to allow you to work for them. I have experience working on cars from a previous job and even then it's hard to find work in the industry. Employers want "shop expierence" where as I was a mobile mechanic and that makes it difficult for me but I won't be able to gain that shop experiences without being given a chance. I feel that attending this trade school will open more doors for me to do what I enjoy doing and that's why I bit the bullet and signed up for this school. Yes it is expensive. But it's a chance I'm willing to take and I hope it was the right decision.
