I was searching to find a phlebotomy course/class/school. After months of research, calling different schools to ask clarifying questions, ensuring they are located in Southern UT. I found one that fit my schedule, with minor adjustments which I needed to make on my part. Utah School of Phlebotomy was my choice. Beth answered my calls and texts. She provided the information I was searching for cost, location, times, dates, etc. She was courteous, professional and personable. Then, I met her. My first interaction with her in the phone and in person were the same. She is encouraging, fun, shares her mana’o (insight, knowledge, wisdom), and gives you a sense of “I can do this.” I am so glad I took her class. My classmates are amazing also. We all gelled together easily. The content was spot on. I was taking an online MA course simultaneously and it solidified what I was being taught but with hands on learning. Beth is an amazing person, student/teacher, and advocate for persons at any age or stage of life to come and do. I am confident that I can become a great phlebotomist. She is a very busy woman. She had a health fair clear up in Brigham, UT, drive down to St. George, then the following week she was in LV teaching this course and back again. If this is what you are wanting to do, I highly recommend UT School of Phlebotomy as your school of choice. Oh yeah, another important thing, a student in my class literally saved a woman’s life because we had to stick/draw blood on other people. This student, drew this older woman’s blood, noticed that something was not right, mind you she drawn blood on more than 15 people by this time. Later that night, this strong-willed woman/gramma, went to the local hospital to be checked. She was immediately put on Warfarin, kept in overnight as a precaution, and will be placed on Eliquis for the remainder of her life. Right place, right time, right skills. Thank you Lord and Beth for providing those skills. 💞
