Great boarding and it has a profound impact on your well-being and future career. The rules are strict but they teach you to grit and it makes you stronger. Highly recommend if an individual wants to get a different form of education.

Vermont Academy is located in a beautiful spot and has such an amazing community! The staff cares so much for the students both their academic and personal growth. I know that the administration takes parent concerns seriously and intentionally takes the time to actively listen to parents and students. Thank you VA for all that you do!

I attended VA from 2021-2023 and they were some of the best years of my life. The dorms can be a bit grungy at first glance, but you’d be hard pressed to find a school where that isn’t the case. The teachers and administrators are fantastic and went far and above for us on a regular basis. Honestly the best part of my experience had to be the time I spent on various different teams and learning new sports. When I arrived at VA I only played one sport, but by the time I left I had learned to play 3 more! If you’re on the fence, I can assure you that attending VA is worth while and it will set you up perfectly for college! (I am currently attending Vassar)

Vermont Academy is school community where the faculty work tirelessly to support the students. There is an inherent friendliness in the culture of the school where learners, artists, and athletes of all varieties support each other in pursuit of their goals. VA offers the opportunity to explore or specialize in a wide variety of disciplines and encourages and celebrates the best of everyone involved in the community.

Best years of my life (class 1965), many longtime friends and memories. My favorite event was "Man and his world,". A unique experience that helped young minds get advanced lessons from guest professors from the very best colleges (Harvard, Yale, UVM, Colgate, Princeton, Cornell, UNH and more). I miss VA a lot and hope all is well there. (note...my first year in college was like an extension of my time at VA.)
In any event your children will benefit and be prepared to grow into our lives today. With weekends skiing at Bromley, Snow Mountain, Stratton etc made great events to look forward to. We had a fun winter carnival and braving the ski jump were just a few things that I still miss.

I graduated from here in 1992. The teachers/professors were nothing short of amazing. I still keep in touch with a few of them. They taught me to think outside of the box, helped build confidence and leadership skills, and always offered their time and full support. The sports programs are also fantastic. I was honored to be Captain of the Track & Field team, and also captain of the men's Varsity soccer team. We were blessed to win the Lakes Region Championships in 89-90. I believe we were the last team to achieve this honor. The food was very good and the weekend activities were fun on most days. Friendships here have lasted a lifetime. I was extremely lucky to have attended this fine institution of learning. I'm proud to to have graduated here with honors.

My two children have thrived at VA! The small, welcoming community proved the perfect restorative experience after a year of online learning at our previous school. My type-A high stats academics, multi-sport athlete is thrilled with her classroom experience, college counseling and sports experiences. My actor, writer, filmmaker kid loves Wilderness Exploration, snowboarding, and rock-climbing. Both kids have jumped right into theater through the 24 hour play festival and a student run musical production. My kids are outdoors year-round, making the most of the beautiful campus. Faculty are accessible, committed, and supportive.

My daughter entered VA as a junior boarder. Her experience was outstanding! She had always been an outstanding student, but needed to gain some independence in an environment that allowed her to do just that while having support and encouragement available. The teachers and staff are incredibly devoted and exceptional. She balanced a challenging academic load, and was still able to participate in crew and theater in large part because everyone at VA made it possible to balance her workload and advocate for herself with teachers. She's now thriving in college.
