I grew up in Waverly and in the 145 district. I always loved attending school because of the smaller environment and I never had any problems. However, my siblings now attend Waverly school district and many problems have since occurred. One of my siblings in particular has been getting bullied on and off since starting intermediate school. It saddens me how little the district of Waverly cares to address these problems. My brother has been called names, pushed off his skateboard, had ink squirted on his brand new clothes, has been pushed to the ground and had his back jumped on, and much more. The district nor his 5th grade teacher Mrs. Dalton seem to care or protect him. Mrs. Dalton even took it into her own hands to announce in front of the whole class that my brother "brings bullying upon himself" and thought it was appropriate to described him as "needy." Her behavior as a teacher who is supposed to be guiding and protecting children is beyond disappointing and sickens me.
