The West Ada Education Association (teachers union) is advising teachers to call in sick on Mondays and Tuesdays to try and push the district to go to 100% online learning and that is disgusting they have put all of the children in WASD second to their agenda. The numbers (which are inflated) for covid do not support any online learning but rather support 100% in class learning if anything. So it's time we stand up to this garbage teachers union and demand the no union teachers educate our children.

The West Ada Education Association is doing their best, both on group and individual teacher levels, in the midst of the worst public health crisis in our country in over 100 years. Because the school district violated the agreement to require online learning while in the red, the teachers made their voices heard in the only way that would get people to pay attention - a two-day sick-out. They are NOT telling teachers to call in sick every Monday and Tuesday, as some uninformed people are claiming. If you're not willing to care for and educate your own children, how can you expect an underpaid and overworked person to do it for you?

I have not had a good interaction with this organization. Actually, I was not able to receive any interaction with this organization. After hearing on the new about this organization, I was shocked to find out Idaho had a local teachers union. I wanted to find out exactly what the organization was about and tried to go to their website. After finding no helpful information, I tried to find contact information. I tried calling the number on the Google site. I could not get a representative from this organization. I sent an email to the email address for their president. I have yet to hear back.

I feel that if this organization says they represent the West ADA teachers, then as a parent of a West ADA student, I should know what they represent. They have yet to respond to me.

As they have not responded to me this is my current reason for giving them a 1 star review. I do not believe that this organization has our students interest in mind. They are only concerned with themselves. I do not feel they represent what the good hard working teachers in Idaho stand for. As a parent of students in the West ADA school district, I find it very frustrating that this union is using my students as leverage to get what they want. I also disagree that teaches decided call in sick as a way to shut down school to send a message. I do not appreciate this organization getting in the way of my students education.

If I receive a response from them I will update my post.
