The easy access to the faculty and the amazing staff is what I love about being a member at the YMCA. They are welcoming and never make you feel like you’re a bother. They are helpful, courteous and most of all, kind…I appreciate their spirit of Aloha!!!

Staff at the welcome desk is very friendly and helpful. New equipment. Clean locker rooms. Good sized pool. Can get quite crowded. The maintenance manager and staff are very good. Staff in the physical fitness center aren't interested in helping anyone or cleaning anything, though. They just want to hang out with their friends or be in places they are not supposed to be. Finding them can be difficult. And their managers hide in offices or dissappear.

I love the YMCA at Nu’uanu. Best yoga teacher- Genie Barker, absolutely incredible class that changed my entire well-being. Love the child care givers, David is a real sweetheart.
Dane always has a nice smile & greeting upon arriving!
Big weight rooms that are rarely full. Love the humongous locker room with lots of showers and even a dry sauna. Can’t beat it for the amenities and price on the island!

Worn down senior citizen Y , built ‘63 and shows age. Mostly oldsters here like me staying alive but nice cafe with reasonable prices where old folk gather to chat and cheer.
Pool is heated. Nice. Some days better than local free pools. Weight and exercise rooms spread out. Have to hunt them down.

Great daily gym. Offers a variety of group classes and has a multitude of spaces to find the workout you’re looking for. Some of the equipment is showing its age but the Y is replacing various machines periodically.

Not perfect, but good enough.

Hoping they will open on Sundays soon.

Being new to the island, I was a little hesitant to sign up because I didn't know anyone. But now I go almost every day and that has alot to do with the friendliness of everyone there. They make you feel like family!

Truly and uplifting place for healthy mind, body and soul. It’s so encouraging and uplifting to see people of all ages from kindergartners through seniors, exercising and learning, and doing activities.
Come, try it out! You won’t regret it. Nuuanu YMCA is a community in the truest sense of the word.

Exercise-wise, There is something for everyone!
